Why OSO
Can't ChatGPT just do this? No. Here's why.
A chatbot only sees what you paste into it. It can't check every transaction in your business every night. And when it's wrong, it can't tell you, or show you how it got there. Audit needs all three.
A chatbot answers a question. OSO watches the whole business.
Chatbots are great with words. Ask one to explain a control or tidy up a memo and it will do a fine job. But internal audit isn't a question you ask once. It's every payment, every pay run and every change, checked against your own rules, every night, with proof you can hand to an auditor.
| A chatbot | OSO | |
|---|---|---|
| Sees your data | Only what you paste in | Every file from your own systems, every night |
| Checks all of it | What fits in one conversation | Every row, not a sample |
| Same answer twice | Not guaranteed | Yes. The same rule on the same data gives the same result |
| Names the rule | Sometimes | Every flag quotes your rule and shows the numbers |
| Can prove it later | No record of what it read | Every figure traces back to the file it came from |
| Who decides | It might | You. Always. |
We use AI too. For the wording.
Never for the numbers, and never for the calls. Every figure is counted by OSO's checks, every flag names the rule it broke, and a person makes every decision. When OSO drafts some wording for you, it says "OSO suggests", and you edit it before anything is saved.
That's the line we hold everywhere: AI can help you say it. It doesn't get to decide what's true.
Why a chat box on top of a model isn't enough
Anyone can put a chat box on top of a model in a weekend. The hard part is everything around it, and that's what we built: connections to the systems you already use, a nightly run over every record, nearly 190 checks written as rules you can read, a trail an auditor can follow from the flag back to the file, and a person signing off on every call.
And we test it the hard way. We hid 44,347 problems in a made-up retailer at Walmart* scale. OSO found every one, and every flag said which rule was broken.
*A synthetic company built to the publicly reported scale of a Walmart US region; every name, id and amount was invented. OSO isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Walmart Inc., and no Walmart data was used. Two test months, two regions; not every check was in scope.
And when your business runs AI agents, we check those too.
More and more entries are posted by bots, not people. OSO holds them to the same rules. A posting with no named approver gets flagged, and so does an agent that starts behaving differently from its own past. Your agents get audited like the rest of your team.
